Start with the routine your horse needs
Choosing horse agistment in Robertson or elsewhere in the Southern Highlands starts with understanding the daily care on offer. Think about your horse’s current routine, how often you will visit and the care you need the property’s team to provide.
Agistment is also called horse boarding. The terms used for care packages can vary, so ask each property to explain its inclusions rather than relying on a label such as “full care”.

Walk through the current paddock options when you visit. Ask about individual or shared arrangements, shelter, fencing, water and pasture management. Discuss what your horse is used to and whether the available arrangement is suitable.
Ridgeview’s horses are generally kept in individual paddocks, with shared arrangements considered where suitable. Regular paddock rotation gives the pasture time to rest. Confirm the current options with the team rather than assuming every paddock is available.
Match the facilities to your riding
Think about the riding you expect to do each week and the spaces and preparation areas you will use. Ask which facilities are included in your agistment arrangement, when you can use them and whether any activities need to be arranged separately.
